Red Tide status: Over the past week, the red tide organism, Karenia brevis, was observed in eight samples from Northwest Florida (see Statewidetable1231). Bloom concentrations (>100,000 cells/liter) were observed in one sample from Bay County. We continue to monitor satellite imagery (USF and NOAA NCCOS) to help track nearshore and offshore conditions, although cloud cover over the past few days has obscured imagery in the vicinity of the red tide bloom.

Fish Kills

Fish kills suspected to be related to red tide were reported to FWC's Fish Kill Hotline or other partners over the past week in Northwest Florida (Bay and Gulf counties).

Respiratory Irritation

Respiratory irritation suspected to be related to red tide was reported over the past week in Northwest Florida in Bay County.
